American Morse Code Translator Guide

Basic Usage:

  1. Text to Morse: Type in the left box to automatically generate Morse code in the right box
  2. Morse to Text: Type Morse code in the right box to decode it back to text
  3. Untranslatable characters will appear as # in both directions

Handling Untranslatable Inputs:

  • Any character not in the American Morse code alphabet will be shown as #
  • When converting Morse to text, invalid Morse sequences will also appear as #
  • These symbols are silent during playback (no sound or flash)

Playback Controls:

  • Play: Listen to the Morse code
  • Pause/Resume: Temporarily stop playback
  • Stop: End playback completely
  • Repeat: Play the Morse code again
  • Loop: Continuously repeat the Morse code

Output Options:

  • Sound: Hear the Morse tones
  • Light: Visual flash for each Morse element
  • Vibrate: Haptic feedback (on supported devices)

Additional Features:

  • Copy: Copy the Morse code to clipboard
  • Save Audio: Download the Morse code as a WAV file

About American Morse Code:

This translator uses the historic American Morse code used in 19th century telegraphy, which differs from modern International Morse code in several characters.

Note: Only letters A-Z, numbers 0-9, and basic symbols , . ? / - ( ) are supported. All other characters will show as #.
